

He was born on September 9, 1944 in Austin, Texas to Max and Guadalupe Rangel-
His survivors include his wife Dorothy of 32 years; Children, Jonnie Rangel, Robyn and Joe F. Trevino, Jr., Ramsee R. Rangel, Anthony and Devea Rangel, Kia and Johnny Hill, sisters Rose and Pete Guerra, Mary and S.K. McElhiney, brother Max and Janie Rangel, and many loving grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and extended family.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Joe Rangel, sisters Alice Salazar and Sharon Carrol, son Alfred R. Rangel, Jr.
Alfred was a loving father, husband, grandfather, great grandfather and friend to all.
Alfred was employed by the City of Austin for 32 years and AMPCO for 10 years. He served in the air force for 4 years from 1962 through 1966.
Alfred had a passion for sports, especially the Dallas Cowboys and Texas Longhorns.

A visitation will be held at Cook Walden Funeral Home, 6100 N Lamar Blvd, Austin, on Monday, March 7, 2016 from 6:00-8:00 pm. Services will be held at St James Missionary Baptist Church, 3417 E Martin Luther King Jr Blvd, Austin, TX on Tuesday , March 8, 2016 at 11:00 am with burial to follow in Austin Memorial Park Cemetery 2800 Hancock Dr, Austin, TX.
