Alice T. Blood, 94, passed away at her Austin home on May 16, 2015. She was born Alice Catherine on April 17, 1921, the youngest child of Dora and Dick Tydings of Washington D.C. She met the love her life, Gordon F. Blood at Petworth United Methodist Church also in D.C.
They married in 1942 and began their lives in the Air Force. Through their 67 years of marriage, they travelled the world until Gordon retired as a Major General in 1975 and they settled in Austin, Texas.
Preceding her in death were her husband, father, mother and sister. Left to cherish her memory and spirit are her daughters Janie Abbott and Nancy Bennett; her granddaughters Alee Abbott and Andrea Rosenzweig; her great grandchildren Brendan, Tyler, Rachel, Kyan, Jay and Sage.
In her prime Alice was an avid golfer and bridge player. Her expertise in the kitchen will be remembered by all she met. We are blessed she graced this world for 94 years.
Hospice was a major support system with both Gordon and Alice in their final days. If you would like to donate in their memory it would be greatly appreciated.
