

Alice Marie Fisher was born in Bartlett, Texas on March 28, 1927 to Charlie and Ida Dukes (both deceased). Alice professed Christ as her leader early in life and maintained her relationship with him throughout her life. She made it a point to talk to God daily and intercede for those in her life. Even when her health began to fail, as dementia set in, she intensified this prayer time and literally prayed all day. Alice was educated in the Texas Public School System and was also a long time employee of the Austin Independent School District of which she retired. Alice was gifted in several areas, she was an outstanding cook and made a lot of her own clothes. She took pride in her family and helped them however she could.
Three children were born to Alice, Dorothy Cummings (Billy Cummings) Evangelist Sharon Haywood (Kenneth Haywood) and one son Howard Fisher Jr. also preceded her in death. She also had great affection for Dr. Rodney Hargrove, Sr. whom she considered to be a son.
Alice had 8 siblings, 4 brothers, and 4 sisters. Sherman Dukes, Henry Dukes Marshall both preceded her in death, one sister Willie Mae Davenport also preceded her in death. She is survived by Elroy Dukes Marshall, Lucille Haynes, Dora Howze, and Patricia Dukes Marshall. 12 Grandchildren: Marvin Fisher Jones, Darrell Jones, Anthony Jones, Bridget Nettles, Juanita Nettles, Dorian Holmes, Kennet Haywood, Kennard Haywood. 15 great grandchildren: Kanisha, Kasheena, Teka, Alicia, Anthony, Darrell, Alexander, Marcus, Brianna, Brandon, Ashliegh, Keaton, Daruis, and 2 great grandchildren that preceded her in death Alicia and Donovan.
