Alice Faye Simmons Hill was born April 29, 1950 in Austin, Texas to the union of Lawyer Simmons, Jr. and Verdell Foster. She attended Rosewood Elementery School, Kealing Junior High School, and L.C. Anderson High School. She worked at St. David's Hospital for six years and later was employed at Seton Medical Center for thirty years, and anticipated retirement from the Heart Hospital of Austin while being employed there for five years. She was a strong, beautiful black woman who had a passion for writing. Alice Faye loved people and never met a stranger. She was giving, kind, friendly, and outgoing.
