Alice LaNelle Houghton

Alice LaNelle Houghton Alice, age 77, passed away peacefully on August 24, 2004. She was born on November 24, 1926, in Houston, Texas, to Herbert and Frances Metz. Shortly after her birth she moved to Austin, Texas. On November 22, 1943, she married Gerald D. Houghton (from Dunedin, Florida) in Corpus Christi, Texas, while he was serving in the Navy. They made their home in Austin, Texas, where they lived and raised their family. She is preceded in death by her husband of 58 years and mother Frances Love. Survivors include: son, Terry Houghton and wife, Bren; daughter, Susan Kelly and husband, Mike; son, Danny Houghton and wife, Pam; brother-in-law, Wally Houghton; grandchildren: Scott and Matt Houghton, Toni Houghton, Neil Houghton, Christy Simpson and husband, Steve; Sarah Chrastina and husband, Nate; Rebekah Davidson and husband, Jad; great grandchildren: Cole and Luke Davidson, and Gabriella Chrastina. The family extends a special thank you to all medical staff and caregivers involved in her care. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association or a charity of your choice.
