Allen Thomas Jacoby Allen Thomas Jacoby of Austin, Texas, passed away at the age of 61 in his home April 18th after a 6-month battle with cancer. Allen was born on March 3, 1947, in Norwich, New York to Ann and John Jacoby and spent his life living in Texas and Massachusetts. He attended Southern Methodist University where he received a bachelor's degree in Real Estate and Finance and went on to earn his MBA. In November 1967, he married Linda Sinclair in Chelmsford, MA. Allen worked in the commercial real estate industry in Boston, MA and Austin, TX for almost 40 years. An advocate for the outdoors and his community, he played a major role in several local and regional organizations. He most recently served as the Chairman of the Building Committee for the Westbank Community Library. Allen was passionately involved in the Coastal Conservation (CCA) on a local, state, and national level. Locally, Allen was the chapter President for several years and successfully guided the chapter through some lean times when the Austin economy was not so robust. He was also on the National Board of Directors but most of his accomplishments were at the state level. As a state Board Member, Allen was instrumental in creating and chairing the Scholarship Committee where CCA-Texas has four fully-endowed graduate level marine science scholarships. First and foremost, he was a family-man. He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Linda Jacoby, and their three children, Jennifer Jacoby Ramberg and her husband Todd, Kim Jacoby Kehoe and her husband Drew, and his son Tommy Jacoby, all of Austin, Texas. Additional survivors include his sister, Pat Jacoby Cameron and her husband John of Gilford, New Hampshire, as well as his four grandchildren, William and Abbie Ramberg, and Grant and Hannah Kehoe. Allen will be fondly remembered by many family members and friends across the globe. A service in his memory will be held this Tuesday, April the 22nd, at the First Evangelical Free Church of Austin at 4220 Monterey Oaks Blvd. at 10:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, please direct contributions in his name to The V Foundation for cancer research (106 Towerview Court, Cary, North Carolina, 27513) or the Coastal Conservation Association scholarship endowment fund, (6919 Portwest, Suite 100, Houston, Texas, 77024.
