For thirty years, Allison shared a loving marriage with her husband, Frank Vehlewald. Together they built a life centered on faith, family, and serving others. She was a devoted wife and a loving mother to Mitchell Vehlewald, Grace Vehlewald, and Joseph Vehlewald, who were among her greatest joys and proudest accomplishments.
A graduate of Miami University of Ohio, Allison carried her intelligence, warmth, and compassion into every season of life. She never met a person she did not love and never passed up an opportunity to serve others. Whether offering encouragement, preparing a meal, praying with someone in need, or simply listening with a caring heart, Allison made people feel seen, valued, and loved.
Throughout her battle with cancer, Allison made it her mission to communicate the love, joy, and hope of Jesus Christ. Even in the face of tremendous physical challenges, she remained steadfast in her faith and became a living testimony of God’s grace. She chose gratitude over bitterness, hope over fear, and service over self-concern. Her courage, optimism, and unwavering trust in the Lord inspired family, friends, caregivers, and countless others who witnessed her journey.
Allison is survived by her beloved husband of 30 years, Frank Vehlewald; her children, Mitchell Vehlewald and Amber Dutton, Grace Vehlewald, and Joseph Vehlewald; her brother, John Patton; her sister, Linda Walsh; and many extended family members, cherished friends, and brothers and sisters in Christ whose lives were enriched by knowing her.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Bill and Meredith Patton.
Those who knew Allison will remember her radiant smile, generous spirit, infectious joy, and deep love for the Lord. Her life reflected Christ’s love in action. She lived with purpose, served without hesitation, and loved without condition. The impact of her life is measured not in years, but in the countless lives she touched and the faith she shared.
While her family grieves her absence, they rejoice in the promise of eternal life and the certainty that Allison is now healed, whole, and at peace in the presence of her Savior.
“I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith.” — 2 Timothy 4:7
To celebrate Allison’s life and the joy she brought to so many, family and friends are invited to gather for a birthday celebration in her honor on what would have been her 62nd birthday.
In lieu of birthday presents or flowers, Allison would have appreciated donations made in her memory to the Street Charity of which she was an original board member, American Cancer Society or to the Agape Women’s Clinic in Cedar Park, organizations whose missions reflect her heart for helping others and sharing hope.
Though Allison’s earthly journey has ended, her legacy of faith, love, compassion, and service will continue to inspire all who knew her until the day they are reunited with her in Christ.
