

Amanda Rae Eskew, 19, passed away peacefully after a 8 month battle with brain cancer on Wednesday, September 12, 2018 at Hospice Austin's Christopher House in Austin, Texas. Amanda was born March 20, 1999 in Austin, Texas.
Amanda was a 2017 graduate of Cedar Park High School. She worked as a shift lead at Piology and was in the process of becoming an assistant manager at another pizza establishment. Amanda's goal was to go to culinary school and become a pastry chef. She enjoyed baking. Amanda also had a insatiable love of animals and would spend countless hours at animal shelters spending time with the animals and occasionally calling home to see if she could bring one home. Amanda had several friends she enjoyed spending time with, two in particular stood out and became like part of the family, Evelyn Hernandez and Ty Marlow. They spent all the time they had available by Amanda's side during her battle with brain cancer. They were like the Three Musketeers.
Amanda is survived by her mother and stepfather, Jenny and Brad Thiem; her father and stepmother Steven and Elia Eskew; her sister, Madie Eskew and stepsisters Rebecca Camarillo and Andrea Camarillo; her grandparents, Mike and Pat Wright; two great grandmothers, Eloise Stone and Alliene Appelhans and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins from both sides of the family. Amanda was preceded in death by her grandparents; Sammy Eugene Eskew and Birdie Fay Eskew; her great aunt Kathienell Leach and her great aunt Catherine Sue Stone.
A visitation will be held Monday, September 17, 2018 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Cook-Walden/Forest Oaks Funeral Home in Austin, Texas. A Funeral Service the following day, Tuesday, September 18, 2018 at 11:00 AM at Life Austin Church with a Graveside to follow at Live Oak Cemetery in Manchaca, Texas.
