Amy Jeannette Steadman

She was preceded in death by her parents, Thomas Warren and Mary Payne Outon; husband John O. Steadman; brother, Thomas Howard Outon; Sister Mary Lynn Clardy; and Sister Doris Klaus Fuller.

Jeannette is survived by 11 nieces and nephews as well as many great and great-great nieces and nephews. She is also survived by her sister-in-law, Betty Outon of Austin.

She was a member of First Baptist Church of Austin for over 50 years and belonged to the Austin Chapter of Eastern Star, Hyde Park Reading Club, Iris Society, Austin Garden Club, and The Lady Bird Wildflower Center.

She retired from the Federal Government in 1980 after 35 years of service as a Telephone Operator Supervisor. During her years of service, she was a Telephone Operator for Lyndon B. Johnson and Lady Bird Johnson.

Jeanette had a love and a gift for flowers and her yard was always filled with bluebonnets, daylilies, irises, and azaleas.

Visitation will be held at Weed-Corley-Fish Funeral Home on South Congress on Wednesday March 14th from 6 pm to 8 pm. Funeral services will be held at Weed-Corley-Fish Funeral Home Thursday March 15th at 11 am followed by Graveside Service at Austin Memorial Park cemetery with Rev. Dr. Doug Keenan officiating.

In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made to her beloved church, First Baptist Church of Austin.
