OBITUARY
Angelita Aguirre
October 1, 1931 – January 3, 2021
Angelita Ruiz Aguirre, age 89, passed away peacefully in her home on Sunday, January 3, 2021. She was born in Manor, Texas, on October 1, 1931 to Maria and Bonifacio Ruiz. Angie spent most of her life in Austin where she held many jobs including being a cook at the family restaurant, Ruiz Cafe, and as an elevator operator at the Stephen F. Austin Hotel. Everyone that knew Angie remembers her loving nature and dedication to caring for countless children at her home daycare. As a longtime resident of Montopolis, many people recall the numerous family and neighborhood gatherings she hosted, her homemade tortillas and tamales, and the helping hand she extended to families. Angie and Gregorio, her husband, were dedicated members of the Dolores Catholic Church and Sacred Heart Society, where she volunteered for the St. Vincent de Paul Food Pantry.
She is preceded in death by her daughter, Rachel Martinez.
Angelita is survived by her loving husband of 65 years, Gregorio Aguirre and their children, Pedro Aguirre, Mary Jane Kipple, Elsa Coronado, Elvia Morales, Argelia Diebolt, son-in-law, Roger Diebolt; 9 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandchild. She is also survived by 7 siblings.
Recitation of the Holy Rosary 9:30 am on Wednesday, January 13, 2021 at Dolores Catholic Church with Funeral Mass to begin at 10:00 am. Interment will follow at Assumption Cemetery. Due to social distancing measures and concern for the community the services will be reserved for the immediate family only. Please join us via livestream of the service with the link listed below.
A celebration of Angelita’s life will be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, a donation can be made to Alzheimer's Association in her name.
