
Ann Alexander, 78, passed away on March 14, 2026, from complications following gallbladder surgery. A beloved and cherished daughter, sister, and cousin, Ann will be remembered for her generous spirit and honest nature. Born May 25, 1947, in Austin, she was the daughter of Mary Bird Alexander and Dr. James R. Alexander, Jr.
Ann attended Casis Elementary School, O. Henry Jr. High, and Austin High School, continuing her education at Gulf Park College in Mississippi and UT El Paso.
Ann devoted 30 years of service to National Western Life Insurance, where she built a respected career before retiring. Ann was a lifetime member of the Settlement Club, where she managed the country store for the garage sale. She was also a member of St. David's Medical Center Robins, through which she amassed more than 20,000 volunteer hours—an enduring reflection of her commitment to others and to her community.
Ann was preceded in death by her parents Dr. James Robert Alexander and Mary Bird Alexander and her grandparents Tom and Bess Bird. She always missed them greatly. Ann is survived by her brother, James R. Alexander III; her first cousin, Sandy Bird, and her daughter Riley, Alex deBeaubien and their children, Remington, and Franchesca, of San Diego, CA; her first cousin Billy Bird and his son Bill Bird, Jade and their daughters, Hope and Kalli of Southwest, Fl. and Billy Bird’s daughter, Nicole Foy, and her children Asias and Nyomi, of Austin.
A visitation will be held for Ann on Friday, March 27, 2026, from 3:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m. at Weed Corley Fish Funeral Home, 5416 Parkcrest Dr. Austin, Tx 78731.
Memorial services will be held on Saturday, March 28, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. at St. Alban’s Episcopal Church, 11819 S I-35 Frontage Rd south, Austin, Tx 78747. A reception will follow in the Parish Hall.
