Her father worked for the Santa Fe railroad and every time he was promoted, they moved, never living more than 5 years in any one city. As a child she lived in San Antonio, Ft. Worth, Denver, South Pasadena, California, then Amarillo where she lived for 55 years. She attended Pasadena Junior College, then Amarillo Junior College, and graduated from Occidental College.
She met Thomas Edd Bandy in Sunday school at Polk Street Methodist Church. They were married January 15, 1949 and had three children, John Thomas, Marianne, and Janet Marie. They were married for 51 years. While raising her children, she volunteered as a Girl Scout leader, helped teach Sunday School at Saint Paul United Methodist Church where she was also active in the Women's Society of Christian Service.
She worked on the Amarillo Public Library bookmobile for 5 years and then as an adult reference assistant at the North Branch library for 12 years and retired in 1985. After retirement, she was active in PEO, the Christian Workers Sunday school class at Saint Paul, and served as librarian at her church with her good friend, Ruth Smith.
Anne moved to Westminster Manor in Austin after the death of her husband to be near her daughter Janet and some of her grandchildren. She is survived by her three children John Thomas Bandy (Connie) of Champaign, Illinois, Marianne Davis (Tom) of Plymouth, Minnesota, and Janet Ingram (Temple) of Austin, eight grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.
The family thanks the staff of Westminster Manor for their loving care of Anne over the last seven years.
A memorial service will be held at Westminster Manor at 3 p.m. on Thursday, August 4, 2016 in the chapel with a reception afterwards in the Solarium. In lieu of flowers, we request donations to the Methodist Children's Home in Waco.
