Annette Alba Avila, 59, of Austin, Texas, passed away on Saturday, February 8th, 2025 at 11:35 pm after a long and hard battle with ESRD, at Cornerstone Speciality Hospital Austin alongside her family and friends.
Born in Dripping Springs, Texas on June 11th, 1965. She moved and resided in Austin, Texas from the age of 5 and was proud to call it her home. Annette was big on education. In her own words, "education never ends; you should always try to learn something new every day," and she did exactly that. Her energy and upbeat attitude were contagious, so much so that even strangers were engaged when she would strike up random conversations. She was outgoing, spontaneous, and down for anything, truly the embodiment of being “the life of the party.” Although she had to retire many years ago, she always spoke of the love she had for working at Dell Computers, Seton Hospital as a medical biller and coder and also as a makeup artist for Macy's. Creativity was her passion. She loved to encourage others, make them feel good about themselves, and gave everyone a space to be and feel seen and heard.
Annette had an enormous, loving and kind soul; never did she hesitate to lend a hand to someone in need or be there for others in their difficult moments. She was kind to all, even to those who wronged her. She refused to turn her back on anyone. She loved anything to do with the beach, especially lighthouses, and some of her favorite activities included painting, crocheting, singing, dancing, and collecting anything that had to do with pineapples. Music had always been a huge love in her life; she was known to make up songs, even to ones that already existed. She was hilarious, even through her toughest times. She loved to joke and laugh and in her final moments, she made sure the people around her were happy and smiling.
Annette is survived by her daughter, Marina, to whom she devoted her life; her brother, Charles; her chosen daughters, Aaliyah, Myranda, and Luisa; her best friends and cousins who stood by her side in her final moment (Lynda, Yvonne, Joann, Patricia, Suzanne); and the many family and friends who loved her dearly. She is preceded in death by her mother, Rosemary, Father Jesus, her aunts, uncles, and cousins.
She will be truly missed, but her life and memories will continue to carry on.
