

Anthony was born September 29, 1996, in Chicago, Illinois. In November of 1998 Anthony and his family came to live in Austin, Texas for a better life and more opportunities. After graduating in 2015, with one of the highest GPAs at Cedar Ridge High School, Anthony decided to join the Marine Corp. He served his country from 2015 through 2020 as an Intelligence Specialist. After 5 years and 2 tours Anthony was honorably discharged, and he returned home to continue his studies.
As a child Anthony always looked up to his father who worked as an Engineering Technician at Applied Materials. After his term in the military Anthony was fortunate to find employment at Applied and was able to follow in his father’s footsteps. Through his hard work and determination, he was able to make permanent after only a short time. He eventually worked his way up to Lead Technician marking yet another major milestone in his life.
He enjoyed the simple things in life like reading books and playing video games. His outdoor activities included fishing, skiing, and he even tried snowboarding. Anthony was never afraid to try something at least once. He brought light and laughter to everyone he encountered. To know Anthony is to have laughed with or to have shared a kind word, whether it be a close friend or a stranger. Anthony was a very special soul with an incredibly big heart who enjoyed spending time with his family and friends.
Anthony is survived by his parents Gerardo Ortiz and Luz Silva; his siblings, Gerardo (Jr.), Vimarie, Adrian and Emely along with his only niece Amaya. He will always be cherished by his cousins, aunts, uncles, grandparents, friends and countless lives Anthony has touched throughout his life. Although he will be missed, the impact he left in this world will never be forgotten!
