Arminda Moody Parker passed away peacefully in her sleep on Wednesday, December 14, 2022 at the age of 92. She was born on July 10, 1930 in Los Indios, Texas. On October 25, 1953, she married John Preston Parker, Jr. in San Benito, Texas.
She was known as "Meme" to all of her family.
Meme could be found many times playing BINGO with her longtime friend Josie. Meme loved to gamble. She enjoyed trips to Louisiana with her daughter and granddaughter.
Meme loved taking her granddaughter Kelly shopping at Ross.
Her grandson Tanner enjoyed receiving eggrolls that Meme and Josie spent time making.
Her granddaughter Megan enjoyed the times Meme took her to play BINGO.
Her grandson TJ liked working in her yard, and Meme loved taking TJ to McDonalds for chicken nuggets.
Her great-granddaughter Mckensie enjoyed the time when Meme took her to Tara Toy Store and played with the toys with her.
Arminda is survived by her son John Preston Parker, III (wife Deborah); her daughter, Janice Michelle Hajda and husband Bryan; grandchildren, Kelly Parker, Tanner Parker and Sarah Richter, Megan Penney (husband Josh) and Timothy John Hajda; great-granddaughter, Mckensie Lynn Falk; and longtime friend, Josie Hammersley.
She was preceded in death by her great-granddaughter Hailey Elizabeth Falk.
Pallbearers are Tanner Parker, Timothy John Hajda, Josh Penney, Eddie Gonzales, Adolph Saenz and David Vrabel.
A visitation will be Saturday, December 18, 2022 from 5:00 to 7:00 pm with a rosary starting at 6:00 pm at Cook-Walden Funeral Home.
A funeral will be held on Monday, December 19, 2022 at 10:00 am at Cook-Walden Funeral Home with a graveside service to follow at Cook-Walden/ Capital Parks Cemetery.
