On January 10, 2010 our beloved mother, B. Ruth Naumann Hoffman went to be with the Lord, and the love of her life, her husband of 59 years, Joe P. Hoffman. She was born in Spicewood, Texas to Earl and Tiny Burton Naumann on August 15, 1924. A long time member of St. Ignatius Catholic Church, she spent many hours volunteering with the VIP's, the food pantry and other needs of her church and community. She never met a person in need that she wasn't eager to help. After a car accident in 1971 which left her disabled she still continued to volunteer with the March of Dimes, Caritas, and hosted monthly birthday parties for the boys at Travis State School. In 1977 she was named Austin's Most Worthy Citizen by the Austin Board of Realtors. She also was a very devoted mother and grandmother, always willing to share her time, vacations, and great desserts with her family. B. Ruth is survived by her son, Ronald Hoffman (Carol); daughters, Beverly Shepherd (Leslie), Henrietta Daywood (Tom), Jo Gail Hearon (Brian); grandchildren, Ronnie Hoffman, Carrie Hoffman-Howell (Clint), Steve Shepherd (Melissa) Kenny Shepherd, Jeff Shepherd, Deana Chipman (Greg), Michael Daywood, Zac Daywood, Matt Hearon (Jamie), Megan Hearon; 13 great-grandchildren; and sisters-in-law, Mary Rose Bross and Margie Naumann. The family wishes to thank the compassionate staffs of Carestone Assisted Living and Resolutions Hospice. Honoring B. Ruth and serving as Pallbearers will be her grandsons. Visitation will be held from 5:00 pm – 7:00 pm on Wednesday, January 13, 2010 at Weed-Corley-Fish Funeral Home, 2620 South Congress with the Recitation of the Holy Rosary to follow at 7:00 pm. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 am on Thursday, January 14, 2010 at St. Ignatius Martyr Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Haynie Flat Cemetery, Spicewood, Texas.
