Born on October 10th, 1935, in Mount Sharp, Hays County, Texas, Arline was the daughter of Laurel Eugene Hohmann and Winifred Ione Calhoun Hohmann.
Arline is survived by her son and wife, Kenneth and Kay Cox; son and wife, Jimmy and Christine Cox; daughter and husband Debra and John Dulski; grandchildren: Krystal Starr, Rachel Cox, Kristina Cox Ashcraft, Chelsey Cooke, Justin Walters, Kandice Cox, Paul Dulski, and Eric Dulski; great-grandchildren: Christopher Montemurro and Jameson Ashcraft and sister, Sharon Felps; brother and wife: Wayne and Kathy Hohmann, and sister-in-law Kay Hohmann. She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Marvin Hohmann.
She grew up in San Antonio, Texas graduating from Harlandale High School. Before graduating she married William Kenneth Cox, Jr., the father of her three children. While making a home and raising their children, she assisted her husband in starting an auto body shop and wrecker service in Smithville, Texas. Years later as a single mother, she moved to Austin. She worked 24 years at Texas Insurance Checking Office, before retiring as a senior multi-line policy examiner.
She was a faithful member of Woodlawn Baptist Church for over 30 years. She would always arrive early to church to claim her favorite pew and to greet and get updates from all her friends.
Arline’s love for her family was unmatched and unconditional. Her home was always open and welcoming to anyone. As her grandchildren reminisce, she offered wise advice, willingness to help, and always available to listen.
She had a great love for the Dallas Cowboys and Texas Longhorns. She would talk football with anyone that would listen. Before her love of football, you could find her dancing the two-step at her favorite dancehalls, especially the South Forty.
A life well lived and one for us to celebrate.
