Barbara Jean Kitchens Lawler was welcomed into the world on July 11th 1935 by Dolly Tate and Lee Roy Kitchens, brothers William Roy Kitchens, Jerome Cole Kitchens and Aubrey Lee Kitchens, and sister Cleo Melvaline. Born, raised, and resided in Austin, Tx.,she met the love of her life and best friend, Billy Gene Lawler. They married in 1955 and welcomed two beautiful daughters, Lisa Leigh Lawler and Laura Lynn Lawler. She was a long time congregant and choir member at Congress Avenue Baptist Church.
Barbara “Bobby” Jean was known for her laughter and way of making an imprint on everyone who had the joy of being a part of her journey on earth. This reached beyond her family and friends, all the way to those that cared for her during her last years of life. Her devotion to Christ brings peace to our hearts as we know God is able to embrace her in His arms and finally say “well done, good and faithful servant.”
She is preceded in death by her husband Billy Gene Lawler, her parents and brothers, and son-in-law Dion Joseph Sartorio. She is survived and lovingly remembered by her daughters, son-in-law Kurt Senske, her grandchildren Kenny and Valerie Wottrich, Katy and Matthew Acosta, Kirby and Kristin Wottrich, Sydney and Cody Kleiber, and Angelina Sartorio, and her great grandchildren Rhyder, Creighton, Holden, Hunter, Tess, Billy, Heidi Ann, Mila, Trey and Nolan Jack. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
We love you, sweet Momma. Until we are together again in Heaven, you are in our hearts.
