Barbara was born in Bayonne, New Jersey, but grew up in Jackson, Mississippi. She married Richard Pierce in 1960 and soon moved to Austin, TX, where she raised her family. Barbara’s passions included playing her piano and spending time with her children, grandchildren and friends. She was an active member at Grace United Methodist Church until 2000 when she and her husband, Rev. Charles Moore moved to Tyler, TX.
Barbara was preceded in death by her husband Richard Pierce, who passed in 1997 and her husband Charles Moore, who passed earlier this year.
Barbara is survived by her sister, Pat Smith of Corpus Christi, three children, Kathy Renfro of Austin, Jeff Pierce of Boston, and Leslie Murdoch of Round Rock as well as 5 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.
Barbara was a gentle and loving soul who touched the lives of everyone she met. She will be dearly missed.
Funeral Service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, November 8, 2014 at Faith Presbyterian Church 1314 E. Oltorf Street Austin, TX. Interment will be held at 4:00 p.m., Saturday, November 8, 2014 at Cook-Walden/Forest Oaks Memorial Park.
