Barbara Fleischauer Nobles Barbara Fleischauer Nobles, loving mother and grandmother, born December 27, 1936, in Dayton, Ohio, died peacefully at home with her children on Thursday, September 25, 2003. Barbara lived her childhood in Dayton, Ohio, and graduated from Ohio Wesleyan University with a BA in Bacteriology. While in school, she met and married husband Donald Frank Nobles on August 24, 1957. They moved to Austin in 1958, so Donald could attend The University of Texas School of Law. While Donald was in school, Barbara was employed by the Texas Health Department. Upon Donald’s graduation, Barbara decided to stay home and raise her family. During her lifetime, she was quite active in many organizations including Delta Gamma Sorority, League of Women Voters and KLRU. In recent years, she was highly regarded as a prosthesis fitter for Petticoat Fair. Barbara thoroughly enjoyed watching the Lady Longhorns and relaxing on the dock on Lake Athens, Texas, with her grandchildren. Barbara (affectionately known as “Baba” to her grandchildren) will be dearly missed by her daughter Ginny Markley and husband Harry, grandsons David and Donald Markley of Grapevine; daughter Lilli Williams and husband Doug, grandson Robert and granddaughter Mary Ellen Williams of Grapevine; son James Nobles and wife Liesel, grandson Zachary and granddaughter Emily Nobles of Austin; brother John Fleischauer and wife Jan of Dayton, Ohio; brother-in-law John Nobles and wife Charlotte of El Paso; as well as several nieces and nephews, extended family and many friends. She was preceded in death by her husband Donald Frank Nobles; parents Ruth and Paul Fleischauer; and sister, Winifred Vaught. A memorial service celebrating her life will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 4, 2003, at Weed Corley Fish Chapel on Lamar.
