Barbara Lynn Paul

Barbara Lynn Schrott Paul passed away on February 23, 2026 in Austin TX. She was born in Maryland August 8, 1963. The Schrott family moved to Texas in the mid 1960’s where Barbara grew up and attended school in the Austin area then completed her college degree at Texas A&M University. She married the love of her life, Jim Paul on January 2,1988 and their son Richard was born November 10,1994 in Austin TX.

Barbara was devoted to and loved her family, her dear friends and their neighbors. She most recently worked at Austin Gastroenterology as an Administrative Specialist and in her spare time enjoyed live music, girls’ trips, traveling to visit the Schrott family in Minnesota and an occasional visit to Las Vegas.

Barbara is survived by her husband of 37 years, James (Jim) Lester Paul of Austin TX and brothers Richard James Schrott (Simone Schrott) and Michael Edward Schrott, all residents of Kyle,TX. She is also survived by mother-in-law, Elizabeth (Betty)A. Paul, sister-in-law, Ruth Ann Dickensheets (Kenneth), nephew Paul L. Dickensheets (Kelsey) and niece Catherine (Caydee) E. Dickensheets, and grand-nephew Walker D. Dickensheets. Her devoted companion J.J. will also miss her ‘Dobie Mom’ very much.

Barbara is predeceased by her son Richard Lee Paul, her parents Clarice Carlson Schrott and Richard James Schrott, Sr. and sister Judith Ann Schrott. In addition, her father-in-law, Clarence L (Pete) Paul has also passed.

A Memorial Service will be held on Sunday, March 15, 2026 at 3:00pm, St Luke’s on the Lake Episcopal Church, 5600 RR 620 N, Austin TX. Reception to follow at the church for fellowship and shared memories.
