Barbara is survived by her husband of forty-seven years, James (Jim) G. Templeton. She was preceded in death by her parents Loraine Agnes Reese and Bobby Dale Reese, and a brother Timothy William Reese. She is also survived by her sons Jimmy and Michael Templeton and her daughter Katy Hamilton (Wade), plus grandchildren Asher, Kylen and Nolan. Three sisters Kathy, Teresa and Jennifer, and two brothers Randy and James and numerous cousins also survive her. She loved each and every member of her family.
Barbara was born on March 13, 1955 in Lockhart, Texas while her mother was visiting Barbara’s grandparents. She grew up in Austin and attended Sacred Heart Catholic School, Pearce Jr. High School and graduated from Reagan High School. She was the short one on the end of the double R dance team. She made life-long friends throughout these school years. After graduation she attended Southwest Texas State University. She moved in with three friends Sharon, Dotty and Janet at an apartment on Lakeshore drive where through good fortune she met a neighbor Jim. They fell in love and were married in 1977.
Barbara loved going to the coast, laying out in the sun with a good book and being with family. She loved to travel and she and the family took advantage of Jim’s work conferences to see much of the U.S. She also loved going to Vegas and pulling on the one-armed bandits. She loved watching her grandsons while she was able. Her favorite activities revolved around family. We will cherish these memories.
Barbara was devout catholic and attended Sacred Heart Catholic Church where she and Jim were married. She later moved to St. Louis Catholic Church and St. Teresa’s Catholic Church. Barbara worked at the Texas Employment Commission and finally the Texas Alcoholic Beverage Commission where she retired.
The family would like to thank the staff at the Harbor House at Buckner Villas. Angie, Onie, the Tinas, Velacy, Vivien, Sarah, Yeshie, Lita, Doha (I am sure I have missed a few) were wonderful and cared for her as if she were their own. Hospice Austin was also wonderful. Lauren, Alissa, Dr. Frellsen, Cat, Denae, Melissa, and others were fantastic during these trying times. Bless you all.
We love you and will miss you Barbara.
