Barry Young of Kyle passed peacefully August 20, 2021. Barry was born in Austin, TX, May 24, 1978 and shortly afterward joined his parents Bernadette and John Young in Robinson,TX. When he was 4 the family relocated to Manchaca,TX where he attended Menchaca Elementary followed by Fulmore Middle School, Bowie High School and ACC. Barry was a talented musician and singer, a skilled carpenter and mechanic and a gunsmith. One of his favorite activities was tinkering with, driving and showing his 1958 Massey Ferguson tractor which he rescued from the weeds. He loved nature and animals, especially his cats. He was very close to his sister Amanda.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Bernadette “Dusty” Barry Young.
He is survived by his father, John Young and wife Carolyn, sister Amanda Young, Carolyn’s son Michael Lind and daughter Samantha Torrez (Bren) and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
His friend Mike Coleman deserves special thanks for caring for Barry in his final months.
Internment at Lawhon Springs Cemetery will be held at a later date.
