

Benton Robinson Carter was born June 7, 1980 in Austin, Texas and was called to Heaven May 2, 2025. He was a devoted husband, father and son who always prioritized time spent with family. Benton had a deep appreciation for the simple joys of life. He loved fly fishing and spent countless hours with friends on the water. He also loved baseball--playing and coaching-- and will be remembered by a host of young boys who benefitted from his instruction and his positive motivation. His dugout humor was unmatched. He cherished every moment with all he loved.
His laughter and quick wit brought joy to all who knew him. Friends and family alike will remember his ability to light up a room with his humor and warmth. Benton had a unique talent for making everyone feel special, often going out of his way to lend a helping hand or share a kind word. His spirit of generosity and kindness left a lasting impact on those fortunate enough to cross his path.
He instilled a sense of adventure in his boys, teaching them the importance of faith and the joys of nature. He gave them his time, and he taught them the importance of friends, family, loyalty and laughter. He created lasting memories for them.
A proud graduate of Texas Tech University, Benton was a member of Sigma Alpha Epsilon where he formed lifelong friendships and bonds that he cherished throughout his life. Benton was a member of Austin Ridge Church and enjoyed the fellowship of the men’s bible study group. His professional journey at McKesson Medical was marked by dedication and hard work, where he was respected by colleagues.
Benton is survived by his wife, Erin Stewart Carter and their two sons, Field Hudson Carter and Ford Robinson Carter; his parents, Kay and Steve Carter; his brother and sister-in-law, H Jackson Carter and Stacy Pounds Carter, his sweet niece, Georgia Mercer Carter, and an extended family of in-laws that he loved-- Dan and Linda Stewart, Dane, Morgan and Taylor Reese, Eric and Heather Bryant, Georgia Rose and Jackson, Scott and Natalia Bryant, Nadia and Gavin. He leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, and hard work that will continue to inspire all who knew him.
As we remember Benton, let us celebrate a life filled with love, laughter and cherished moments. He will be deeply missed but forever remembered in the hearts of those who loved him. A memorial service will be held to celebrate his life and the profound impact he had on so many on Wednesday, May 14, 2025 at 11 a.m., Riverbend-Smith Family Chapel ,4214 N Capital of Texas Hwy, Austin, TX
