

The family moved to San Antonio where Betty found a life-long friend, Helen Love, and when she was 13 she met her future husband, Stanley Castano. After graduation Stanley joined the US Army and they were married when he returned in 1946. They have been a loving and devoted couple for 66 years. They made their home in Austin and had one son, Stanley E. Castano.
Betty was a beautiful and loving person and will be missed by all who knew her.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her son, and siblings, Bill Tullos, Rex Royal and Joyce Bretz.
She is survived by her husband, Stanley Castano; 2 grandsons, Zach White and Sol McMillin and his wife, Tina; 2 great-grandsons, Caiden and Merrik McMillin; her sisters, Rita Turner and Margaret Tewell; sister-in-law, Barbara Tullos; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and many dear friends.
The family wishes to express appreciation to the staff at Parsons House Assisted Living and to all at Christopher House who so tenderly cared for Betty during her last days and one very special nurse and friend, Patti Thomason.
Friends are cordially invited to a visitation with the family from six o’clock until eight o’clock in the evening, on Tuesday, the 11th of December 2012, at Cook-Walden Funeral Home, 6100 North Lamar Boulevard, Austin, Texas.
A funeral service will be conducted at two o’clock in the afternoon on Wednesday, the 12th of December 2012, in the Colonial Chapel of Cook-Walden Funeral Home, 6100 North Lamar Boulevard, Austin, Texas. Interment will follow in Cook-Walden Memorial Hill Cemetery, Pflugerville, Texas.
