Betty lived a life rooted in love, family, sacrifice, and caring for others. Selfless in the truest sense, she gave freely of her time, wisdom, and love. She was much more than a mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother—she was a steady source of comfort, guidance, stability, and unconditional love.
She was the loving mother of Dane James and Carolyn Williams. She was a devoted grandmother to Keisa Williams and Steven Williams. She was also blessed with her great-grandchildren, Jaidyn, Xavier, Jameson, and Mara, and her great-great-grandchild, Carmello.
She is also survived by her sisters, Otha Allen, Madeline Anderson, and Suzy Anderson, along with extended family and friends who were fortunate to know and love her. Betty was preceded in death by her loving husband Robert James; her brothers, Lucky, Clinton, and Floyd and her beloved grandson, Steven Williams.
One of the greatest parts of Betty’s legacy was the role she played in raising the generations that came after her. She helped raise her family with unwavering devotion and gave of herself without hesitation, showing her love not only through words, but through her faithful presence.
Betty will be remembered for her caring heart, her strength, her generosity, and the way she loved her family so completely. Though her absence leaves an immeasurable space, her love and legacy will continue to live on in the lives of those she nurtured and cherished. Her love was one of the greatest gifts, and it will be carried always.
