

Betty was a Past Matron of Eastern Star. She was also the business owner of The Place for Fashions for 25 years in Austin. “Grandma Dean” was quite the socialite and comic through all of her activities including “The Old Kids on the Block”. She was a very active member in her church and loved all of the activities she was involved in. She was touched by many lives including friends, relatives, and caretakers.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and her son, Scott Dean. She is survived by her son and his wife, David and Sharla Dean; grandchildren, Dee Ann White, Debbie Farmer and husband , Kevin; great-grandchildren, Devin White, Bailey Farmer and Dylan Farmer, all from the Austin area.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., Friday, January 21, 2011 at Cook-Walden/Forest Oaks Funeral Home.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 3:30p.m., Saturday, January 22, 2011 in the Chapel of Cook-Walden/Forest Oaks with Reverend Don Long officiating. Interment will follow at Cook-Walden/Forest Oaks Memorial Park.
Pallbearers will be Devin White, Kevin Farmer, Scott Mc Kenzie, Brent Perez, Lance Peltier, Henry Trevino and Harold Tuttle.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Betty’s memory to the Hospice Austin’s Christopher House, 4109 Spicewood Springs Road, Ste 100, Austin, Texas 78750.
