Bettye Jo Cunningham

Bettye Rivet Cunningham passed away peacefully November 26, 2003 in Austin, TX. She was born on May 27, 1928 to Glee and Homer Rivet of Beaumont, TX. Bettye graduated from Southwestern University in Georgetown and taught elementary school for 2 years before becoming a full time mother and homemaker. She is preceded in death by her husband Edmund; son, Paul; her parents; and brother, Gene. Bettye is survived by her sons, Edmund Cunningham, Jr., Patrick Cunningham and wife Joan, all of Austin, Stephen Cunningham and wife Patricia, of Tyler; daughters, Kerry Cunningham and husband Christopher Rothwell, of New York City, and Susan Cunningham and husband Phillip Plata, of Austin; grandchildren, Matthew and Marci Wheeler, Eleanor Rothwell; and great-grandson, Ayden Wheeler Judge. The family will receive friends from 5:00 – 7:00 P.M. on Monday, December 1, 2003 at Wilke-Clay-Fish Funeral Home. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 A.M. on Tuesday, December 2, 2003 at St. Ignatius Catholic Church, 126 W. Oltorf, Austin, with Reverend Patrick Marron officiating.
