William H. Campbell (Bill) of Jupiter, Florida passed away peacefully on September 10, 2026 at the age of 82. He was born on February 13, 1944 in Rocky Mount, North Carolina where he grew up before attending North Carolina State University to study engineering. After graduating from NC State, Bill loved his career at Pratt + Whitney in Palm Beach County, Florida. He enthusiastically accepted his job offer when he visited Florida during the winter and learned he had the opportunity to work in the aerospace industry at Pratt + Whitney. Living in Palm Beach County also gave him the opportunity to pursue his passion of playing golf and taking care of many cars, including his beloved 1965 Buick Riviera GS, year-round.
Bill was a dedicated son, brother, husband to Peggy, father to Christie and Jason, and grandfather to Kaya, Ethan and Juan. Bill and Peggy enjoyed a large circle of lifelong friends from decades of living in North Palm Beach, Palm Beach Gardens and Jupiter, Florida.
Bill was preceded in death by his father, Alton, his mother, Mary, and his wife, Peggy.
He is survived by his brother Tom Campbell and wife Cathy of Greenville, North Carolina. Daughter Christie Campbell and granddaughter, Kaya Kimball, both live in Austin, Texas. Bill is also survived by Jason Campbell, his wife Arlene, of Orlando, Florida and their sons, Ethan Campbell of New York City and Juan Gonzalez, his wife Briana and son Parker, of Orlando.
When learning of his passing, his golfing friends responded that “Billy” was a tremendous friend, wonderful soul, a great man, a true gentleman, and one of a kind- the best kind. His lifelong friend from Rocky Mount thought of Bill as his brother.
As a father and Popi Bill, he was always a man of integrity, embodying his lesson that you are only as good as your word. Bill never parted from his family without telling them that he loved them and to be safe. Bill and Peggy provided an amazing family life and will be deeply missed.
The family would like to thank Denise for her decades of support and also the caring staff of The Reserve at Lake Austin. A small family gathering will be held at the Campbell vacation home in Ellijay, Georgia.
