

William Brown Word, III, age 65, also called Bill by his family and friends, passed away at his Austin Texas home on February 20, 2012. Bill retired in 2006 from IBM Austin after 37 years of service as a Staff Programmer Analyst specializing in systems test. Bill has a Bachelor of Arts in Mathematics from University of South Florida, Tampa. Bill worked the Williamson County Elections from 2006 through 2011. Bill bowled in the IBM Austin League since 1976, most recently out of Highland Lanes. Bill was also a passionate sailboat Captain, and raced his Catalina 22 on Lake Travis with the Austin Yacht Club and the Catalina 22 Fleet 69 Club in Austin.
Bill was predeceased by his parents William Brown Word, Jr. and Edith Wasson of Jacksonville, Florida. Bill is survived by his wife of 34 years, Ann-Marie Denomme Word. He is also survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Jacqueline Marie and Marc Fullerton of Round Rock, Texas, and their expectant daughter, Riley Ann. He is also survived by son and daughter-in-law, Kristopher William and Jennifer Word of Carrollton, Texas, and their daughter Camilla Jolie. His two brothers Wayne Wyatt Word of Las Vegas, Nevada, and Gary Brian Word of Princeton Junction, New Jersey, also survive Bill.
The funeral service will be Friday at 10:00 AM at St. Thomas More Catholic Church, 10205 N Fm 620, Austin, TX 78726, (512) 258-1773. Inurnment to the Columbarium following the service located on the grounds of St. Thomas Moore.
In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made in honor of Bill Word to The American Cancer Society or The American Diabetes Association.
