BILLIE BOB JONES MURPHEY Billie Bob (Mrs. Thomas O.) Murphey died March 30, 2007 at Christopher House. Billie Bob was born September 9, 1916 in Valley View, Texas. She graduated from the University of Texas where she was a member of Kappa Kappa Gamma and a Bluebonnet Belle. Billie Bob married Thomas Oran Murphey in 1939 and they lived in Lubbock, Texas until 1969 when they moved to Austin. She was a member of the Junior League in both cities. Billie Bob and Tom were best friends and were married for over 65 years, until his death in 2004. She is survived by her son, Thomas O. Murphey, Jr. and her grandchildren, Thomas O. Murphey, III and Lucy Murphey, all of Austin. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, April 4, 2007 at the Episcopal Church of the Good Shepherd. Inurnment will follow in the church Columbarium. In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate donations be made to Hospice Austin's Christopher House, 2820 E.
