Billy W. Mauldin passed away on August 30th, 2012, in Georgetown, TX. Billy was born in Italy, TX to Wayne and Nell Reeves Mauldin on July 16, 1932. He graduated from Weslaco High School along with the class of 1950, and married Darlene Marshall on October 10, 1953. Billy later attended the University of Texas at Austin, graduating with the class of 1960.
Over the years, Billy served in the U.S. Army and later retired as Director of Management Information Systems for the Teacher Retirement System of Texas. He was a member of Northwest Baptist Church for 50 years, where he dearly loved working in his church, singing in the choir, watching sports, especially the Texas Longhorns (he bled orange!) and having the family together. He boldly told of his love for Jesus and not only talked the talk, he walked the walk. His motto was, “you do not truly touch someone, unless you touch them”.
Billy is survived by wife, Darlene; son, Randy; daughter in law, Tricia; four granddaughters, Michelle Bragg and husband, Kevin; Christal Fredrickson; Kaci Mauldin and Makenzi Mauldin; and 2 great granddaughters, Camden Fredrickson and Brookston Bragg; sisters in law, Marlene Davis, Kristan Marshall and Helen Marshall; brother in law, Loren Marshall and numerous nieces and nephews.
