Billy was raised by his mother Robbie Gibson along with his two older sisters Mary Margaret Hoffman (Middleton) and Doris Higginbotham (Middleton).
According to his sister Doris, he loved to fish and go to the ballpark as a young boy. His mother recalls him being a very happy child full of energy, but always sneaking off to the local rodeo show. At age 8 years old he had Rheumatic fever which forced him to be bedridden for a year. During that time, he kept himself occupied with his dog by his side and baby rabbits which he would hide under his bed from the doctor.
He dedicated his early adult years to the US Air Force and his wife Marjorie and (3) children; Michael Middleton, Johnny Middleton and Cheryl Samuels (Middleton). Being in the military for 21 years he was able to share many wonderful traveling memories with his family.
His love for animals (especially his dogs) always kept his family entertained with hours of fun. He later expanded his animal love to his ranch, where he enjoyed caring for his (very well fed) cows, goats and chickens. Billy was known to feed any animal that happened to be in the yard. His squirrel and bird feeder just outside his kitchen window brought many entertaining mornings while drinking coffee. For many years he enjoyed the company of Pat and Charlie his two Amazon Double Yellow Head parrots. His latest dog Lola will surely miss her morning routine, but maybe now she will lose a little weight.
Billy had such an adventurous life and a personality to match. He talked so many times about all his friends and how they always had his back. His love for you ALL was very well known by the family, so on behalf of his children THANK YOU and GOD BLESS YOU for taking part of caring for our father.
With love,
Michael, Johnny and Cheryl
