Binu Philip, born on July 22, 1972, in New Delhi, India, to the late Chacko Philip and Mary Philip. In 1974, Binu emigrated with his family to Brooklyn, New York. Five years later, they moved to Queens, where he spent most of his childhood. A proud graduate of Cardozo High School, Binu pursued higher education at New York University and Columbia University, earning a degree in Economics.
Binu's professional journey began in the fast-paced world of investment banking at Alex Brown & Sons. His career path later led him to run an educational software company before he found his true calling in the video gaming industry. He worked for several renowned gaming companies, including Gathering of Developers, Edge of Reality, and WolfEye Studios. Binu was known for his strong work ethic, pride in his work, and deep care for his staff.
His travels took him to various cities across the United States, but he eventually settled in Austin, Texas, where he built a loving home. On September 3, 2011, Binu married the love of his life, Anjana Perianayagam, and together they raised three wonderful children: Aaron, Jonah, and Lana.
Binu was a man of deep faith, often quoting the Bible and finding solace in church and Bible study sessions. His spirituality was a cornerstone of his life and a source of strength for his family.
Family and friends were the heart of Binu's life. He was always there for his loved ones, known for his jovial personality, caring nature, and wonderful sense of humor. He had a passion for travel, which fueled his appreciation for art, architecture, and diverse cultures. A respected role model in his community, Binu was always ready to offer sage advice to younger generations, encouraging them to live humble and successful lives.
Binu Philip's life was marked by his unwavering dedication to his family, his faith, and his work. His legacy of love, kindness, and wisdom will continue to inspire all who knew him.

A funeral service for Binu will be held on June 5th, 2024 at 10:00 am at Shepherd of the Hills Christian Church, 6909 W. Courtyard Dr. Austin, Texas 78730. A burial will take place after the service, at Cook Walden Capital Parks Cemetery, 14501 N IH35 Pflugerville, Texas 78660.
