Bishop was the love of my life and I miss him everyday.   He is, once again, happy and healthy with his Savior.  ❤️

I first met Bishop in 1984 when I was the manager of Tom Thumb #27. I later managed the stores of Tom Thumbs #27 and #52 and then Simon Davids #33 and #66. Bishop was my district manager over all of these stores, and I found him to be very professional and enjoyable to work with. The Simon David stores were very successful like "lightning in a bottle" and became a favorite stop for many tours. We had people from all over the United States along with Japan, New Zealand, Australia, Germany, France, England. Bishop's daughters were too young to realize that their father had become "world famous". It was always a pleasure to work for Bishop as he made it fun. We reconnected in 2011 with Bishop and Sherrie and stayed in contact throughout the years enjoying their company whenever we got together. We had many long phone conversations and talked about anything and everything. Bishop will truly be missed, and our hearts go out to Sherrie and 'the girls".

Bishop is the brother of our sister-in-law, Ruthe Land, we have been blessed to know the Allen family for over 50 years now, they are a wonderful family and it has been a pleasure getting to know each of them at various family gatherings and we feel blessed to be a very small part of their family. Our hearts go out to each family member over the loss of Bishop, he was a true joy to know and someone that I consider a friend. Bishop and I were in the same Army Reserve unit in Mesquite, Texas for 6 years and he was gracious enough to let me take care of his air conditioning needs at his home in Austin for many years. After we both had retired and I moved to Waco, Bishop and I had many lengthy phone conversations over the last few years about every topic you can think of, it was always a pleasure to talk to him and I will miss those conversations. Bishop was a special person, we will always remember him as a real gentleman, always gracious and encouraging and his friendly and welcoming smile. Our thoughts and prayers are with every family member during this difficult time and loss of a beloved family member.

Bishop was always a gentleman and his positivity will remain foremost in our memory. Always proud of his family , he engaged stories with a smile on his face. 
He will be missed .

Remembering  my brother-in-law.  This was a wonderful day!  What an honor and a blessing to have had Bishop in my life.  I will miss him.  My thoughts and prayers are with you Sherry and with your beautiful girls and their families.

What a beautiful family Bishop and Sherry nurtured and are surrounded by in these wonderful pictures. During our 20' and 30's we shared many an adventure with them as friends and family. There were many trick or treating Halloween rides, the cookie parties at Art and Elise's, Saturday night gatherings at Aunt Tish's, long coffee times at Grandys, Bible studies at Park Cities with Allen Stickney....and the trip to Las Vegas when Bishop tried to read the "how to play blackjack" book while he was at the blackjack table and I believe we also were on a bowling league together :)  I wish I had a photo for each memory but I can't put my hands on any. No matter, they were dear, fun loving friends no matter what. We helped each other through some hard times and lots of good ones. Love to you Sherry. I can see that you will be surrounded by many loving hands moving forward.  Rachel, Becca and Brooke are so beautiful with such great families. Blessings to you all.

Bishop was such a great guy.  Always happy and kind. He was the other half of the dynamic duo of Bishop and Sherri.   I will always remember him fondly.  I will miss him.  Happy hour will not be the same without you my friend.   I know the Lord will bless and keep you Bishop!

It was a pleasure of caring for you Mr. Allen. This feels so unreal typing this message. You are one of the strongest person that I’ve met. You fought everyday trying to be self sufficient even with your condition and I will always love you for that. I will miss chasing Freedom around the house lol as well as watching UT play. I didn’t really know anything about football but he educated me on a lot of plays lol we always watched the news and college football together. I knew this day would come but I wasn’t expecting it to be so soon. Thank you for allowing  our team to come into your home and spend your last days with you Mr. Allen. Love always, Tyra!
