

Blas departed this life on Thursday, November 2, 2006. A lifelong resident of Austin, Texas was born September 5, 1929. He married on August 8, 1982. Blas attended Christ Lutheran Church 300 E. Monroe, Austin, Texas. He was an avid fan of the Dallas Cowboys and Texas Longhorns. He was preceded in death by his parents, Blas and Olivia Moya; brothers, Johnny and Charlie Moya; sister, Lilly Romero and first wife Trinie Mendoza Moya. He is survived by his wife of 24 years, Lucille Herrera Moya; sister Rosie Caballero; son Edward Moya, Sr. and wife Dale of Del Valle, Texas; daughter Gloria Astran and husband Armando Bear of Kyle, Texas; step-sons, Fred Cruz, Jr. and Don Herrera; step-daughters, Dolores Rubio and Bette Jo B.J. Zamora and husband Abel; twelve grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren. Serving as pallbearers will be his grandsons, Edward Moya, Jr., Jesse Blas Moya, Gilbert Astran, Anthony, Arron and Derek Herrera. Honorary pallbearers will be Tito Zamora and J. R. Vasquez. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Christ Lutheran Church or a charity of your choice. Visitation will be held from 7:00 pm 9:00 pm on Sunday, November 5, 2006 at Wilke-Clay-Fish Funeral Home. Funeral service will be conducted at the Wilke-Clay-Fish Chapel at 10:00 am Monday, November 6, 2006 with Pastor Hugh Beck officiating. Interment will follow at Assumption Cemetery.
