Bobbie Eden Newman Homesley, age 90, of Bastrop, passed away Saturday, April 19, 2014. She was born April 12, 1924 in Atascosa County, Texas, the second born of eight children, seven girls and one boy, to Otto Alonzo Newman and Melissa Beauchamp Newman.
She was preceded in death by her parents; five sisters; one brother; her husband, Fred Homesley, Sr.; and her son, Lonnie Homesley.
Bobbie is survived by her son, Fred Homesley, Jr. and wife, Betty; daughter-in-law, Cheryl Homesley; two sisters, Faye and Harold Shockley and B.J. Green; grandchildren, Lonnette and Patrick LaBorde, Matthew and Amanda Homesley, and Etta Lynn and Robert Wiley; great-grandchildren, Amethyst and Brian Washington, Matthew and Kimberly Homesley, Christopher Fletcher, Mason Homesley, Kyleigh Homesley, Sara Wiley and Clary Wiley; great-great-grandchildren, Braelan Washington and Myles Homesley.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., Wednesday, April 23, 2014 at Cook-Walden/Forest Oaks Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be held at 9:00 a.m., Thursday, April 24, 2014 in the Chapel of Cook-Walden/Forest Oaks Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Cook-Walden/Forest Oaks Memorial Park.
