

Graduating from Trinity High School in 1954, Bobbie was the Drum Major of the band and an accomplished twirler. She received a scholarship where she was Drum Major at Henderson County Junior College in Athens, TX. She later graduated from Stephen F. Austin State University in Nacogdoches, TX where she received her degree in Education. It was during those years of teaching that she perfected her craft as an educator. Her first teaching job was in Taylor, TX at West Avenue Elementary. She later moved to Austin, TX and taught in Project Head Start in the early 1960’s. Bobbie worked in the Austin Independent School District (AISD) for 17 years serving at Gullett, Pillow, Dill and Casis Elementary Schools. Bobbie remained very passionate about teaching, but she also felt that she would make a great leader and administrator. Bobbie returned to Graduate School in 1977 in Educational Administration at the University of Texas, where she graduated with honors, Summa Cum Laude, receiving her Masters and several administrative certifications. She moved to Eanes Elementary in West Lake Hills, TX, where she taught and was an Assistant Principal for over two decades. She later retired at Eanes in 1996 with 39 years of service in education and administration.
Bobbie was also a supportive member of Tarrytown United Methodist church since 1962. She was an accomplished painter and musician often putting on musical productions in the classroom. Perhaps one of her proudest moments was when her second grade class displayed their artwork at the State Capital in Austin, TX.
Bobbie will be remembered for her love of life and family and her work as teacher and administrator.
Her beloved son, James Robert Huff and her husband Charles H. Huff preceded her in death.
She leaves behind a daughter Luann Becker of Baltimore, MD, Dixie Lucey and husband Ron of Austin, TX a son, Jason Charles Huff of Bryan College Station and four grandchildren, Mary Katherine, Will and Thomas Lucey and Tucker Hill Huff.
