Born January 2, 1936, Bobby lived his whole life in the Austin area. A veteran who served in the U.S. Army, Bobby retired from the LCRA after more than 20 years of service. He is survived by his son Louis, daughter-in-law Susan, and their children and grandchildren, his brother Frank Holland and sister-in-law Jan, numerous nieces and nephews and many friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Jewell and Robert T. Holland, Sr.
Bobby was generous with his friends and would frequently show up toting gifts of Lammes chocolate, Shipley’s donuts, home grown tomatoes, or various flora ready to be planted. In fact, he presented some friends with so many zinnias that they claimed he was a “petal pusher.” He advised neighbors on gardening and home improvement projects and entertained friends from All Star Body Shop with anecdotes while helping out around the shop. He was a collector of coins from the U.S. Mint and cars that needed some work, and did we mention that he had the best-maintained lawn on the block? Bobby was a true character and will be missed.
