Burnya Mae McLeod

Burnya Mae "Bim" McLeod, 91, passed from this life on Sunday, August 4, 2013. She was born on September 26, 1921 to B.J. and Trula Vesta McHam in Wichita Falls, Texas. Bim married the love of her life, Dr. N.L. Tim McLeod in October of 1942 and celebrated 58 years of marriage until his passing in 2000. She was a devoted Christian and dedicated her life to her husband and 6 children. After graduating from Abilene Christian University, Bim attended John Sealy School of Nursing where she became a Registered Nurse. She had a passion for helping the sick and injured and her "home" formulas for soup and soul reviving toddies were without equal. She was a faithful member of the University Church of Christ for 61 years where for many years she served as a volunteer at the Christian Service Center. She will always be remembered for her blonde brownies and chocolate pies.

Mrs. McLeod is survived by four sons and their wives; Tim McLeod and Judy, Don McLeod and Cathy, Kevin McLeod and Angel, and Kelly McLeod and Trish; two daughters, Connie MacLeod and her husband, Jake and Kim McLeod. She is also survived by a sister-in-law, Mary Francis McHam; 18 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and a host of friends. Bim was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, two brothers, and one sister.

The family will receive friends from 6:30 P.M. to 8:00 P.M., Friday, August 9, 2013 at Cook-Walden/Forest Oaks Funeral Home. A Celebration of Life Service will be at 10:00 A.M., Saturday, August 10, 2013 in the Chapel of Cook-Walden/Forest Oaks Funeral Home. Interment will follow services at Cook-Walden/Forest Oaks Memorial Park.

Honoring Mrs. McLeod as pallbearers will be grandsons, Todd McLeod, Cody McLeod, Adam McLeod, Aaron McLeod, Zachary MacLeod, and Sean MacLeod.
