Carl spent his career in the Real Estate and Real Estate Finance industry but his true passions were anything related to the outdoors including gardening, animals, and landscaping. In his youth, his family spent their summers at Garner State Park. As an adult, he imparted that same love of nature and the outdoors to his own family. He also thoughtfully designed and constructed several family homes. He was both abundantly creative and able to fix anything, and he loved sharing these abilities with anyone who needed help. Carl will be remembered for being a kind, generous, and talented individual. He had a fantastic sense of humor and always loved a good joke or a well played prank. He had an extremely in-depth knowledge of all things Rock N’ Roll and had an extensive collection of concert photographs taken by him at various concerts in the 1960’s and 1970’s. His photography work has been included in a book as a tribute to Bruce Springsteen and there are several of his photos displayed at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame of Jeff Beck.
Carl was blessed by having a loving wife and three wonderful children, and two grandchildren. His greatest joy was spending time with his family.
Carl is survived by his wife, Cindy, their children, Ashley Wallingford and her husband, Jackson Bennett, Tyler Wallingford and his partner Lara Wright, and Katie Wallingford and her partner Ben Ludeman. He was also blessed with two beautiful grandchildren Ethan Wallingford Nejad and Ellis Bennett. Carl will also leave a lasting impact on the lives of his sisters Joan Mickler (Louis) and Karen Moore (Dick) and his brother Nick Wallingford (Averil). He also leaves behind nieces and nephews, grand nieces and grand nephews, and many sister and brother in-laws who loved him dearly. There is a void in our world that will be difficult to fill.
Carl is preceded in death by his father, John Roland Wallingford, his mother, Doris Corinne Wallingford Farrar, and his brother, John Roland Wallingford II.
A celebration of Carl’s life will be held on July 6, 2022 at 11:00am at Lakeway Resort & Spa. Lakeway Resort and Spa is located at 101 Lakeway Dr., Lakeway, TX.
