Carmen spent her working years as a Special Education assistant, helping individuals with disabilities. Even after retirement, she continued to care for her husband and sister in their time of need. Although she was taking care of them, she never stopped enjoying life. She was always experiencing new things and places. If she wasn't at home you can always find her at the casino or bingo hall, with her long time partner Conrado Gonzales.
Carmen is preceded in death by husband, Ysidro S. DeLeon. Survived by her daughter Delia P. DeLeon, her two sons James P. DeLeon and Ysidro P. DeLeon Jr. and two grandsons Tanner J. DeLeon and Dhani D. Sauls.
