Carol Ann Menor

Carol Ann Menor, age 76, was born March 15, 1941 in Macon, Georgia to Robert Houston Crutchfield and Hilda Mallory Moseley and passed away on March 26, 2017 in Austin, Texas surrounded by her family. Carol attended A L Miller High School in Macon. She was married to Lt. Col. (Ret) Dennis Franklin (Frank) Menor, Jr. on January 6, 1959.

Carol worked as a school secretary for Reilly Elementary School. She loved playing the piano, gardening, needlepoint, the USAF, University of Texas sports and spending time with her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and many friends.

Carol is preceded in death by her parents and step-father Phil Cook Shealy, Jr, her brother Guy Robert (Buckie) Crutchfield. She is survived by her loving and devoted husband and daughters: Laurie Trevett and husband Jamey, Susan Bierschenk and husband Jim, Holly Whitter and husband Kenn. Also by her grandchildren: Lara Trevett, Jamye Sears and husband Andrew, Katie Bruner and husband Kyle, Amanda Bierschenk and Lauren Whittier; Great-Grandchildren: Molly, Addy and Nathan Sears.

The family would like to thank the physicians, nurses, technicians and staff of the Austin Heart Hospital for their loving and tender care over the years, especially in these last days, the staff of Gilead Home Healthcare Services for their amazing rehabilitative care and all of Carol’s physicians and care team who have walked with her through her difficult journey.

A visitation will be held on Thursday, March 30, 2017 from 6-8 at Cook Walden Funeral Home, 6100 N Lamar Blvd, Austin, TX 78752. A service will be held at the funeral home on Friday, March 31, 2017 at 10:00 am followed by interment at Cook Walden Capital Parks cemetery, 14501 N IH 35, Pflugerville, TX 78660.

Flowers may be sent to the funeral home or donations may be made in Carol’s honor to the National Kidney Foundation.
