Carolyn Tucker Brazelton Carolyn Tucker Brazelton, a long-time resident of Austin, passed away on Monday, October 3, 2005. Carolyn was born in Brownsville, Texas on April 22, 1917, to Effie Powell Tucker and E. J. Tucker. After spending her childhood years in South Texas, she moved to Austin during the early 1930s. A graduate of Stephen F. Austin High School, she went on to earn degrees from The University of Texas and The New York School of Interior Design. Carolyn began her career in Interior Design, later working for Austin National Bank, the University of Texas, and for the State of Texas. Her favorite memories, though, were of the fifteen years she spent as part of the Weed-Corley-Fish family business. She married William B. Brazelton, of Waco, Texas, and after a short time in Waco they settled down on what was then considered the outskirts of Austin in the Allandale neighborhood. They were blessed with one daughter, Jane, and were members of First Baptist Church. Carolyn is survived by her daughter, Jane Brazelton Jacks and husband, Mark, and by her beloved granddaughter Natalie Rose, all of Austin. Her parents and husband preceded her in death. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, October 7, 2005, at the Weed-Corley-Fish Funeral Home, followed by interment at Austin Memorial Park.
