Carolyn Earlene Miller of Georgetown was surrounded by family and friends when she passed away peacefully, after a brief illness, on Saturday, January 23rd at Lighthouse Hospice in Round Rock. She was 62 years old. Born on February 18, 1947 in Manor, TX, she was the daughter of the late Floyd and Louise Harrison. Earlene was a gentle spirit that loved all animals and birds, often bringing home dogs, ducks and even donkeys. She can be remembered for a vibrant life, expressed in her gardening, baking and cross-stitching. She worked for the Texas Railroad Commission most of her life and had many friends. Earlene's pride and joy was her only son, John. She was a devoted and loving mother with twinkling eyes and a big smile whenever he was with her. Earlene leaves her faithful son, John Stephens Schaefer and his wife Vicki of Round Rock and her grandsons, Harry and Brent Schaefer. Special thanks for love and support to John's grandma, Inez "Mimi" Shackelford, Jan Payne and the Llamas, Schmitt and Meuth families. After a private family viewing, a graveside ceremony for Earlene will be held at Haynie Chapel cemetery in Garfield, Texas on Tuesday, January 26, 2010, at 2 PM.
