Caron Frances LaTouf of Austin, Texas, passed away on March 19th, 2025, at the age of 78. She was born on May 25th, 1946, in Austin, Texas, where she spent her early childhood. She then moved to San Antonio, Corpus Christi, and then back to Austin for a short time before moving to Houston in 1959. There, she met the one and only Love of her life, Ed LaTouf, when she was 16 years old, and they have been together ever since.
She graduated from Bellaire High School in Houston in 1964 and attended Stephen F Austin for a few years before marrying her high school sweetheart.
She worked at the Texas Employment Commission for 15 years, but her Life’s Work was dedicated to caring for her family which she excelled at and was always her priority until the very end.
She was actively involved in St Catherine's of Siena and Oak Hill Baptist Churches.
She is preceded in death by Parents James and Betty Kaul, and Sister Laurie Burtt.
She is survived by her Husband of 58 years Edward G LaTouf Jr, and children Edward G LaTouf III, Shannon LaTouf Ford, Shane Thomas LaTouf and Justin Zachary LaTouf, Sisters Sara (Murph) Kaul, Mary (Bill ) Holm, Krissy Rytel, Brother James (Shelly) Kaul, Brother in-law John LaTouf, 9 Grandchildren, 2 Great Grandchildren and many cousins, nieces and nephews.
She was a wonderfully beautiful soul, extremely fun, sassy, and very quick-witted with funny snapbacks and one-liners, which she was able to maintain even during the advancement of Alzheimer's. She Loved and supported her Family Fiercely, and enjoyed Music, Reading, Words with Friends, and Wine. She was an amazing Wife, Daughter, Sister, Mother, Grandmother, and Great-Grandmother and will be dearly missed until we can all be reunited once again.
The family would like to express our sincere gratitude to Lorali Rothman, Fancy Mejia, and Heather Jones with Resolutions Hospice for the care and compassion they showed our Caron in her final days.
