Catherine Lynn Fry

Catherine Lynn Fry, beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully on Saturday, May 10, 2025, at the age of 73. She was surrounded by love in her final moments, just as she was throughout her life.

Born in Clinton, Oklahoma, to Donald and Patricia Wonder, Cathy lived a life marked by compassion, quiet strength, and unwavering devotion to her family. She spent her early years in Oklahoma and Houston, graduating from Westbury High School, before settling in Austin in the 1980s, where she made her home.

Cathy was the heart of her family—a steady source of warmth, wisdom, and unconditional love. Her nurturing spirit touched all who knew her. She never missed a moment—weddings, birthdays, school plays, or holidays—her presence was a gift she gave freely.

She found joy in the simple things: time with her grandchildren—Zade, Zealand, and Sophie—gathering with family, and offering a warm meal or a place to rest to anyone in need. Her home was a refuge, her heart open to all.

Cathy is survived by her mother, Patricia Wonder; her son, Steven Daab; her daughters, Leslie Daab and Molly Wright; her grandchildren, Zade Gedney, Zealand Wright, and Sophie Jones; her brothers, Don and Mike Wonder; her sister, Ann Shepherd; and many beloved nieces, nephews, and extended family.

Her love lives on in each of us. We will miss her dearly, remember her always, and carry forward the grace, kindness, and generosity she so effortlessly shared.

A visitation for Catherine will be held Friday, May 16, 2025 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Weed-Corley-Fish Funeral Homes and Cremation Services, 2620 South Congress Avenue, Austin, TX 78704. A funeral service will occur Friday, May 16, 2025 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM, 2620 South Congress Avenue, Austin, TX 78704. A graveside service will occur Friday, May 16, 2025 from 3:00 PM to 3:15 PM at Cook-Walden/Forest Oaks Cemetery, 6300 William Cannon Drive, Austin, TX 78749.
