Catherine P. Hernandez

Catherine was preceded in death by her parents, Manuel and Andrea Pineda. She was the last of her generation, so she joins all her loving siblings Manuel, Phillip, Janie, Jesse, Mike, Andrews, Johnny and Henry, also loving granddaughters, Sandra Castilleja, and Lil Susan Baldonado and great-grandchildren Joseph Luna and Baby Isaac.

She is survived by her beloved daughters Margaret and husband Steve Piper and Susan H. Saldaña, 7 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren and 8 great-great-grandchildren, many loving nieces, nephews and all who knew her.

We would also like to express deep gratitude for the special love and care given to mom by Helena (Dina) Olga, Maria (Chicky) Marie Pineda, Maria and Villa Rodriguez, Dora Trevino, Dolores Litton, Delia Hernandez, Emilo Baldonado, Liz Saldaña, Hector Reveles and Friar Florenco Rodriguez.

Pallbearers will be John M. Saldaña, Aaron and Dominic Saldaña, Arthur and Arty Alvarado, Shawn Lucas, Manuel Pineda, and Nathan Baldonado. Honorary pallbearers will be Jesse (Lito) Saldaña, Jimmy Saldaña, Andrew Saldaña, Edward (Lalo) Saldaña, Jesse Saldaña, and Jason Saldaña.

A visitation for Catherine will be held Thursday, July 14, 2022 from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM at Weed-Corley-Fish South Chapel, 2620 South Congress Avenue, Austin, Texas 78704. A recitation of the holy rosary will occur Thursday, July 14, 2022 at 6:00 PM, 2620 South Congress Avenue, Austin, Texas 78704. A recitation of the holy rosary will occur Friday, July 15, 2022 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church, 1206 E. 9th Street, Austin, Texas 78702. A mass of christian burial will occur Friday, July 15, 2022 at 11:00 AM at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church, 1206 E. 9th Street, Austin, Texas 78702. Interment will follow in Assumption Cemetery, 3650 S IH 35, Austin, Texas 78704.
