Charles is survived by his wife, Jo Ann Ayres; and son, Charley Ayres; of Temple, Texas, and preceded by his youngest son, David Russell Ayres.
Charles was born on October 25, 1929, in Austin, Texas to Russell and Mary Ayres.
He graduated from Austin High School. Charles began working for the University of Texas in the printing division. He married Jo Ann, in 1951. Over the next 8 years, the couple welcomed 2 children into their home.
Charles was an active and devout member of the Crestview Baptist Church in Austin.
The funeral is scheduled for Saturday, July 27, at 10:00 am at Crestview Baptist Church, with a lunch at 12:30 pm at Crestview Baptist Church. Visiting hours will be at Crestview Baptist Church on July 27, from 9:00 am to 10:00 am. Pastor Jeff Cramer will officiate the ceremony.
