Dr. Ferrin delivered my son in 1966. He took wonderful care of me during my pregnancy prior to that. What a wonderful doctor he was.  I went to him with my second pregnancy but he wasn't delivering babies anymore. I was devistated.


It was with great sadness that I learned only today of Charlie's passing. My Mom and Dad, Curt and Virginia Arrington loved both he and Jeanne. Dr. Ferrin took great care of my parents. He also took great care of my children and myself during a very difficult time of my life. A terrific human being, he will be sorely missed by all who loved and cared about him. 



I had the pleasure of working with Dr Ferrin for 3 yrs. what a precious man always laughing , so easy to work with and he loved all of his patients He will be missed so much




I want to say how much we loved Dr.Ferrin as our family doctor. We  first went to him in 1965 when he shared an office with Dr. Smart next to the Handy Andy store. We had just moved to Austin & had 4 small children. He was such a great  doctor & always smiled & hummed & made you feel good just to see him.  As our children grew older they still went to see him..All of us did. Wish there was another out there like him, but we have not found anyone.  Our thoughts & prayers are with your family. Jeanne, Flavia, & Beth, So sorry to hear of Dr. Ferrin's passing.  Although I wasn't a close family friend, I remember fun times with all of you when I would come to Austin to visit my Aunt & Uncle (Dr. Joe Scott Lancaster) during summer vacations in the 1960's.  I will always remember the twinkle in Dr. Ferrin's eyes.  My thoughts and prayers are with you.



I have such wonderful memories of Dr. Ferrin. He was a wonderful doctor but an even better father. I loved going over to Beth's house and being a part of such a warm and loving family.   You are all in my prayers.  God Bless.



May the Peace of the Lord be with you Jeanne. Both Loraine and I will miss Charlie as a best freind and as our personal physician. Charlie was a most unique doctor, always taking time to visit and making one feel like family. He would hum a tune while examining you. His diagnosis was always right on target. It is so ironic that Dr. Smart and Charlie have both joined our Lord in Heaven within what seems a few months of each other. I am certain Charlie is having a good time discussing his love of trains and chatting up a storm on patient stories. Loraine remembers becoming Charlie's patient when she worked for Fulford's Appliance in late 1959. God Bless the Ferrin family!



Jeanne, Flavia and Beth, I was sorry to hear about Charlie’s passing.  I feel so fortunate to have gotten the privilege to know Charlie and to have grown up with all of you.  I have so many fond memories as a child going on family visits to Austin to see the Ferrins and how could I forget our Cook-Ferrin-Read family vacations. Charlie’s sense of humor and playful nature always guaranteed a fun time for all.  His love for his family showed in everything he did and I will miss his gentle nature.  May God bless you all and may you find comfort in knowing that Charlie touched the lives of so many people.



And when Dr. Ferrin had 'finished' he'd look at me with those wonderful kind twinkling blue eyes and ask what else was going on! He'd dig deep and find the true ailment. He was patient, he was wise, he was the best doctor I've known. It was a privilege and a joy to know him. Thank you Dr. Ferrin.



Dr. Ferrin was our company doctor when I came here in 1975.  I was having blackouts on the drive home and he treated me.  He asked, before he did expensive testing, about my habits, and I disclosed a new habit of coke/candy break at 3:00pm with my co-workers.  He suggested I stop that and see if I got better.  He was a nutritionist before his time-I was cured!  He was so kind, caring and a good listener. They do not make them like Dr. Ferrin anymore, sadly.  Fond thoughts and condolences to all his family.



To Jeanne and the entire Ferrin family - Bonnie and I are deeply saddened with the loss of Uncle Charlie. No words can express our love and respect for a man that touched so many and in such a positive manner over the course of his 85 years.  Our fondest memories will be cherished and shared with our extended family. Please accept our love and sympathy and know that we share your heartbreak in the loss of a wonderful man.



I remember with great fondness Charlie's warm and jovial presence at all of of the wonderful times spent with the Ferrin family while I was growing up.  He always had a positive outlook, and shared it with everyone around him.  My sincere condolences to Jeannie, Flavia, Tim, Beth, Wayne and the grandchildren.



I felt great sadness to read of Dr. Ferrin's passing.  He was my doctor for over 30 years....also my children's doctor.  He delivered my first child.  He was a great doctor and great friend.  He was like no other.  His sense of humor kept me going many times and he was always there and he always cared.  He will be sorely missed. I will cherish the one last time last year that I spoke to him on the phone.  It was so great to be able to talk to him.  May God give you strength to carry on and bless you in your time of grief.  Neither I nor my children will ever forget him.



Dear Jeanne,  We are so sad to hear about Dr. Ferrin's passing.  We both loved him so very much both as our doctor and as a friend.  We were so thankful to have him as our primary care doctor while our children were growing up.  They all loved him and appreciated his special attention and humor.  Elvin considered him a best friend and his favorite to call on as a Medical Rep.  All the Reps loved and appreciated him.  We will mlss him at the annual get together, but hope to see you. It was with great sadness that I read of Dr. Ferrin's passing.  He was my physician from 1978 until his retirement.  While I was glad he would be able to concentrate on his golf game, I was sorry for my own loss.  He always had time to really talk with you.  And, yes, the humming!! *smile*  He was a true humanitarian.  The sadness I feel of his passing is overpowered by the positive impact his life had on others.  We are truly benefited for having known him.  Rest in Peace, Dr. Ferrin.  And thank you.

Dr.Ferrin was my doctor for over 20 years.  Even after I moved to the Marble Falls area, I drove back to Austin to see him for several years.  He always treated me with such respect and had the best smile and always humming a tune.  He usually had a joke to tell me too.  What a great man and doctor he was.  If only the doctors of today were more like him!! My deepest sympathy to you as I know you must miss him so much.



How fortunate to have Dr. Ferrin as my physician.  His compassion for his patients was unwavering.  Dr. Ferrin provided a common sense approach to your ailment all awhile humming a special tune.  He held a twinkle in his eye and a sheepish grin to help allay your concerns.  God bless Dr. Ferrin.    To Beth, may the wonderful memories you hold so close remind you that your Dad is always near.



Growing up along side Flavia and Beth, I spent almost as much time in the Ferrin household as my own. My memories of those years - and the years since - are filled with scenes exemplifying Dr. Ferrin's humor, kindness, intelligence, and creativity as he tickled the ivories. May memories like these be of comfort to everyone in the family, especially Mrs. Ferrin, as Dr. Ferrin is now in a place where he filled with His grace.  I will remeber Dr. Ferrin often and fondly, and always with a smile.



I speak for the entire Morgan family when I share how his kindness, his extra care shown, and yes his humming endeared him to all of us.  His calm demeanor, yet focused attention, was reassuring and helpful. Dr. Ferrin (Charlie) was our doctor for more than 30 years--from 1959 until he retired.  He delivered both our children, Lisa and Don.  No matter how sick you were or how bad you might be feeling, it was always a pleasure and comfort to visit his office.  He was a wonderful doctor and a great friend.  My love and sympathy go to Jeanne, Flavia, Beth and their families.      Nan



Dr. Ferrin was my doctor for more than two decades. His gentle style, pleasant humming, and the  sincere interest he showed me during each of my visits are traits not often found in doctors these days.  There was no "rush" through our visits and he would undertake each question with a quality of care that always made me feel special - and showed that he truly cared about me as a patient. I have thought of him often - and will remember him always.



Dr. Ferrin was a wonderful doctor.  Not only that but he made each visit with him pleasurable.  He treated both my husband and I and my Father until he retired.  He seemed to care so much for his patients and they for him. He was a great doctor and a great man. We were fortunate to know him.



Dr. Ferrin was a close friend of my parents, Loyd and Nan Hampton.  He delivered me.  I have fond memories of visiting his office when I was a child.  I know how much his friendship meant to my parents and my thoughts are with his family.



Great people make great doctors. And Dr.Ferrin was a perfect example of both a great person and a great doctor. Our heart felt sympathy may God bless.



I will remember Charlie Ferrin fondly as a doctor of great skill, warmth and humor. Certainly the paradigm of a doctor of excellence. I have often told the story when I asked him for his best advice as a new mother. With his characteristic twinkle he said “Feed her and keep her out of the driving rain”. Laughter and good sense. Onward, Charlie.
